Zach Hyman, the busiest Leaf, on his children’s books, his gaming company and You Can Play – The Athletic

Seventeen hours after the buzzer sounded on an unsightly 6-1 loss in Lengthy Island, Zach Hyman is on the Toronto Reference Library forward of a busy afternoon of e-book studying.

He’s there, contained in the second flooring’s Novella Room, as a part of Head & Shoulders’ Headstrong marketing campaign to learn a bunch of native youngsters his e-book, Hockey Hero, and make a small donation to the library’s youngsters’s literacy initiatives.

The second of Hyman’s three youngsters’s novels so far, Hockey Hero (printed in 2015) tells the story of 8-year-old Tommy Toomay, who, underneath the steering of his hockey-mad grandfather, overcomes his season-long nerves within the championship recreation. It follows 2014’s The Bambino and Me, a narrative on a younger Yankees fan’s first recreation, and precedes 2018’s The Magician’s Secret, which tells the story of a grandfather, a grandson and the ability of their shared creativeness.
