Police appeal after man's phone stolen in attack near Basingstoke train station

POLICE are in search of data after a person was attacked and robbed close to Basingstoke practice station.

On Tuesday, 19 February, at round 7pm, a 29-year-old man was approached by two younger girls asking to borrow cash within the tunnel linking the back and front of Basingstoke practice station.

After declining, the person carried on strolling within the course of Oakridge property. He continued into an alleyway working previous Gower Shut and The Vyne Faculty when he was struck over the top from behind with an unknown object.

He was then additional assaulted and had his black Samsung cell phone stolen. A bunch described as being made up of two girls and two males have been then seen working from the scene.

The police need to communicate to the 2 younger girls, who have been described as being white and aged between 18 and 22-years-old. One was described as slim, and the opposite girl was of bigger construct with black hair, carrying massive earrings and a darkish jacket.

Detective Constable Drew Wright stated: “This was a nasty assault on a lone man merely attempting to make his manner residence.

“He’s extraordinarily fortunate to not have sustained extra critical and lasting accidents.

“I attraction to anybody who noticed something, or who might maintain any data referring to these accountable, to get in contact with us.”
