The N.C. Division of Transportation has been honored by a nationwide group for its pioneering use of drones to answer hurricanes and ship medical provides.
The Nationwide Affiliation of State Aviation Officers (NASAO) named NCDOT’s drone program because the 2019 Most Modern State Program at its annual conference in St. Paul, Minn., Tuesday night time.
NASAO honored NCDOT for its use of drones to answer Hurricanes Florence, Michael and Dorian, and the supply of meals and medical provides. The company is a finalist for one more award from the American Affiliation of State Freeway and Transportation Officers. That honor shall be determined by a public vote.
